July 16, 1945 – May 11, 2024We are saddened to announce the passing of Eric on May 11th 2024. At 78 years young, he left us peacefully at Guelph General Hospital after a brief stay, with his daughter Kyleigh and son in law Logan by his side. Predeceased by both of his parents, George and Margarita Birse, he leaves behind many close family and friends.
Born in Dundee Scotland, Eric came to Canada in his early years, but was always true to his roots. Everyone who knew him, knows he loved his cold pint of beer at noon, and a warm scottish pie for supper. He would love to tell stories about his time in policing, causing ruckus as a young lad, and ended his stories with ‘until next time!’
Though he may no longer be with us to share those stories, he will forever live on in our hearts.
The family would like to thank the team of staff, nurses and doctors at Guelph General for making his brief stay peaceful and full of laughs.
Cremation has taken place, and no service will be held as per Eric’s wishes.
In lieu of flowers and donations, we ask that you raise a cold pint of Canadian and take a moment to remember the laughs he brought to everyone around him.
