Clark, Ermie

Clark, Ermie Zamora Capalongan (nee Capalongan)
February 26, 1938 – March 14, 2023

It is with heavy hearts that we announce Ermie’s peaceful passing at the age of 85 on Tuesday March 14th at the Hamilton General Hospital.

Pre-deceased by her loving husband of 39 years, Ronald Wayne Clark, her father Ernesto C Capalongan and mother Elena Zamora, father-in-law Ronald Keith Clark and mother-in-law Mona I. Dole.

Ermie will be deeply missed by her son Ernest “Ernie” Capalongan, (Marnelli Sophia “Phia”) and fondly remembered by grandchildren Asiah Tristan and Kobe Christian. Ermie will also be sorely missed by the Capalongan family, the Clark family and many other loving family members and friends.

Born in the Philippines, Ermie eventually moved to the United States to pursue a career in Nursing. Although it was difficult, she left her relatives and friends and decided to move to Canada to continue her Nursing career.

She truly enjoyed her social time with family and friends. She also loved to travel with her husband Ronald Wayne and son Ernest to different locations including USA, Mexico and areas of Ontario.

She was a very caring member of Laidlaw United Church and always looked forward to spending time with their community. She did however really enjoy spending time at home where she was most comfortable.

A special heartfelt thank you to Reverend Doug Moore. I cannot find the words to express the gratitude and support you have provided to my mom, dad and I.

Thank you to all who have been beside her in her Life journey. To all the family and friends near and far and those that may be waiting for her homecoming: you are all part of what made her a beautiful person.

Thank you to everyone else who made her life full with so much laughter and joy. Our family thanks you for being part of her life during a moment or for decades. Also, a very special thank you to the compassionate and caring staff on 8 South at the Hamilton General Hospital.

Most of all, I thank God for blessing her with a life full of love and happiness, and a family legacy which will be cherished for many generations.

Per Ermie’s wishes, cremation has taken place and memorial service will be held on Thursday March 23rd at 3pm with a celebration of life to follow.
