Overvelde, Gerard (Gerry) passed away on January 3rd, 2021 at the age of 77. Gerry was born in Deventer, Netherlands on July 10th, 1943. Gerry came to Canada in 1951 with his family of 13; Parents Antonius (d 1976) and Antonia (d 1996) and siblings Wim (d 2015) (Agnes d 2014), Annie d 1951, Ellie (Koos d 2013), Hermina (Kees), Toos (Leo), Tony (Shirley), Herman (Mary), John (Ann), Francois (Suzanne) and Mary (Harry).
Gerry met his wife Ann at Queen’s University in Kingston and they were married in Ottawa on September 6th, 1969. He was cherished by her siblings John (Maureen), Mary (Terry d 2016), David (d 2018) (Jan), Stephen (Nicole) and Peter (Karen).
Gerry and Ann raised 3 children in Nepean, Ontario; Catherine, Daniel and Karen (Tom). They moved to Kitchener in 2002 to be closer to their 4 grandchildren: Zeke, Tatiana, Darienne and Lucy.
Gerry will be fondly remembered as a family man who always had a smile for everyone. He was extremely loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
