July 26, 1950 - November 29, 2024It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of James Smith on November 29, 2024, at Brampton, Ontario, after a long illness.
Born in Edinburgh, Scotland on July 26th, 1950, son of James Rowley Smith and Mary Smith, whom he loved and took care of in their old age.
James had a love of soccer, and a keen mind. He often enjoyed testing people’s knowledge of history, movies, trivia, and the Bible. He was a thrifty and resourceful man, a devoted pet owner, and enjoyed making tasty meals with fresh vegetables from his garden.
James will be greatly missed. He leaves behind his loving wife of 30 years, Judith Magee, his step-children, Liz (Harold) Horvath and Erin Rankin, his step-granddaughters, Brittany and Jessica, as well as his brothers, David and Harry, and extended family members and friends.
A special thanks to the staff at Tullamore Long-term Care Home for their care and comfort.
According to his wishes, James has been cremated. A celebration of James’ life will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the Canadian Cancer Society would be greatly appreciated by the family.
