Robinson, Joyce
Robinson, Joyce
August 1, 1929 - August 17, 2024With great sadness we share the passing of a wonderful person, Joyce Robinson. Joyce passed peacefully in hospital following a brief illness.
Joyce was predeceased by her parents, Bob and Alma (Smith) Ilton, her siblings Bill, Norm, Jean, Helen and Cliff, and her son, Carl. She is survived by her daughter, Jan Ofremchuk (Terry) and son, Gary (Sharon). Joyce is survived by four granddaughters: Nicole Weir (Matt), Melissa Ofremchuk (Shawn Coffin), Avery Robinson and Holly Robinson. Joyce was delighted by four great grandsons: Jaeger, Bronson and Leo Weir, and Hayden Coffin.
From Signal Hill to the Rockies, Joyce lived and travelled across Canada. Wherever she landed, Joyce would soon be invested in the local community through charities, the church, bridge clubs, even joining a golf and curling club! She was also a typical Canadian hockey mom, driving to early morning practices and timekeeping on outdoor rinks in the freezing cold.
Joyce was a master quilter, and her work will be treasured by her family for generations to come; she taught quilting classes well into her 70’s. Joyce also showed her artistic flair for piano, painting, sewing, knitting, even baking. Her mastery of any craft really knew no bounds. When Joyce decided to join the work force, she put her retail acumen in sales and management to work at several major jewelry stores across the country.
Joyce had a great sense of humour, always enjoyed a good laugh, and a good ‘dish’. We will all miss her patience and understanding, her stories, and her kindness to all.
Memories of Joyce will live on with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, fondly and with lots of love.
In keeping with her wishes there will be no service.
Memorial donations to McMaster Children’s Hospital Foundation would be appreciated by the family. https://www.hamiltonhealth.ca/donate
