Kevin Wilcox
April 3, 1963 – October 15, 2023
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Richard “Kevin” Wilcox at the age of 60 on October 15, 2023. Kevin died peacefully at home with his family by his side after a courageous battle with cancer.
Predeceased by his father Dick (2016) and his mother Vivian (1981). Survived stepmother Carole. Kevin leaves behind his loving wife Marcy along with children Alex, Emily, and Amanda (Jedd, along with grandchildren Abby, Aiden, and Vivian). Most loved by his in laws, as well as his nephews and nieces. Phil and Margot Thiessen, Neil, and Lina Thiessen (Emmanuel and Talia), Esther and Jeff Squire (Sarah and Phillip), Jess and Ernie Vaneck (Braydon), Bill and Ruthanne Thiessen (Kyle, Mikayla, and Janelle), Erney Thiessen (Olivia, Avery and Joseph) and Linda and Ben Garnham (Lauren and Luke).
Kevin was a gentle, loyal, kind, and loving soul who will be greatly missed by all whose lives he touched. He maintained a great sense of humour that he carried with him till the end. Kevin enjoyed vacationing in the Caribbean and Central America with family and friends, most often arranging the getaways! He enjoyed a long career with Staubli as a sales engineer and tool changer specialist.
Special thanks to Grand River Hospital and their professional health care team along with the Home Health Palliative team who ensured his comfort.
As per Kevin’s wishes a cremation has already taken place. An informal celebration of life will be held on October 21st, 2023, from 2-5pm at the Wilcox home residence in Petersburg.
Kevin was passionate about the conservation of marine wildlife and welfare, so in lieu of flowers a donation to Sea Shepard whose mission is to protect and conserve the world’s oceans and marine wildlife would be appreciated. Donations to the Canadian Cancer Society can also be made in his memory.
