Brown, Susan

Brown, Susan (nee Litven)
June 24, 1959 - July 27, 2022

It’s with great sadness that we announce Susan passed away peacefully at Hospice Wellington on the 27th of July at the age of 63.  She will be lovingly remembered by her mother Marianne Deville (nee Krawchuck) and late father Edward Litven, her daughter Amber Isley (Nathan Dunsdon) and son Troy Galvin (Laura Galvin). She will also be fondly remembered by her grandchildren Jade, Griffin, Willow, and Alexander and also her half-siblings Debbie Litven, Sandy Hug, Terry Litven, and Tina Litven.

Born in Edmonton, Suzi was a dedicated mother who was fiercely proud of her children and loved her grandchildren “to the moon and back”. She loved unconditionally and embraced being a Baba with all her heart.

She faced significant health challenges but always remained strong, positive, and dedicated to her family throughout her life journey. Her beautiful hands held tremendous strength, created amazing art, nurtured friends and family with good meals and healthy gardens along the way; a testament to the adversity she overcame in her life. Embracing nature throughout her love to travel, collecting rocks, connecting with people, she thrived to leave a lasting impression.

Through her working career she used her vibrant personality and trendsetting style to help her succeed in both public relations and retail management. She proudly finished her career with Stantec, traveling and making friends along the way. She contributed significant efforts in various soccer clubs, Ukrainian dancing groups, and helped develop local talent through community talent shows.

Suzi Ukrainian danced, never stopped cheerleading about the family’s rock n’ roll past and all the people she cared dearly for. Suzi (Bubz/Baba) will be remembered for her positive outlook, her smile, her larger-than-life personality, her big heart, and the many warm and cherished memories that will be with us forever. She loved listening to songbirds and now when we hear a songbird’s call, we know Suzie is with us.

Special thanks to all the medical support teams at Grand River Hospital and Cancer Center, Guelph General Hospital, and the Hospice Wellington.

In lieu of flowers, donations to any of the above would be greatly appreciated by the family.

A celebration of life is being held August 5th in Mississauga, Ontario. Contact troy_galvin@yahoo.ca for more information.

In addition, a formal memorial will follow in Edmonton, Alberta anticipated near the end of August, 2022.
