McBride, Valerie (nee Demaine)
September 19, 1940 - April 5, 2022Passed away peacefully at home on April 5th 2022 at the age of 81. She is Survived by her Adoring husband of 30 years, Ronald McBride who was Valerie’s primary caregiver & best friend until the very end.
Lovingly remembered by her sons Mark & David Phelps of BC, Michael (Haruko) Phelps of Japan and daughter Julie (Michael) Whitehead of Hanover, ON.
Grandchildren, Leigh Rae Phelps of Walkerton, ON, Nolan, Marley, Maggie & Everett Phelps of BC, Senna & Anke Kikuchi of Japan & Spencer & Sarah Whitehead of Hanover ON.
Brother, David Demaine of Florida & predeceased by her parents Harry & Joyce DemaineValerie worked hard at everything she did. She never sat still. She loved to travel & was always planning her next trip with Ron. She spent many retirement years in Las Vegas at their trailer. She was always willing to help anyone in need. She would do anything for her family & friends and always made special effort to keep in contact. In retirement she made it her routine to reach out to all she loved & made sure she knew what was going on in their lives. She loved to read and garden. She adored her grandchildren and if possible would never miss being part of their lives & special events. She had a infectious laugh and sense of humour.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the Alzheimers Society of Grey Bruce would be greatly appreciated.
There will be no service as per Valerie’s wishes.
