Turner, Betty Diane
June 7, 1942- February 5, 2025Betty Diane Turner (nee Manning) passed away peacefully on February 5, 2025 at the Wellington Terrace Long Term Care Home in Fergus Ontario, with family by her side. She was 82 years old.
Betty was born to Clarence “Sonny” Manning and Gladys (Parnham) Manning, in Coldwater, Ontario. She was the youngest of three siblings and had fond memories of growing up on the farm. She went to secretarial school and worked for The Huronia Regional Centre in Orillia for many years before her retirement. She was Elvis’ number one fan.
Betty will be reunited with her first husband, James Terrence “Terry” Fitzpatrick, niece Jill Dunlop, father Clarence, niece Michelle Houston, mother Gladys, sister Marie Dunlop, brother-in-law Glenn Dunlop, sister Joan Houston, brother-in-law Bill Houston and nephew Chris Dunlop.
She leaves behind her daughter, Tracy Turner (Don) of Burlington, son Phil Turner (Nichole) of Fergus, and her caring grandchildren, Sydney and Vaughn. She will be lovingly remembered by her extended family and friends.
The family would like to extend their deepest gratitude for the staff at Wellington Terrace Long Term Care home in Fergus for their excellent care of Betty in her final years.
A private graveside service will be held at a later date. Donations can be made in Betty’s name to the Ontario SPCA and Humane Society, a charity close to her heart.
