Pellow, David

Pellow, David Bruce
February 21, 1955 - October 21, 2024

At the young age of 69, Dave passed peacefully with his daughter, Erin, holding his hand after a battle with cancer. Predeceased by his parents, Jim and Grace Pellow, he is survived by his brothers Brian and Scott (Cheryl). Dave’s greatest joy was being a Dad to his daughter, Erin, and an uncle to his nieces Koryna (Derek), Madelyn (Gareth), and Marijka, his nephew Devan (Alex), and his great-nephew Ben and great-nieces McKenna and Emma.

Dave was born and raised in Niagara Falls, Ontario. After high school, he set off looking for adventure as he travelled to Europe, Egypt, and Mexico with his friends. Over the years, he explored many hobbies, including bird watching, swimming, gardening, and bonsai. He tried his hand at creating AI images of his family and pets. Dave was a storyteller if ever there was one. Whether they were true or not, well, we’ll never know. He had an immense love for music and forever curated mixed tapes, CDs, and Spotify playlists. His final playlist, Scooby Snacks, consists of 500 songs by (almost) 500 artists. Creative license, he would say.

Dave was intelligent, creative, curious, and, despite his curmudgeonly exterior, a big softy. He appreciated a good tradition, from Saturday morning breakfasts with his friends to the movies with his daughter on Christmas Eve. He will always be remembered for his sense of humour. His quick wit and quips could only be classified as #classicdave.

Thank you to his family and friends, who surrounded him with love and support these past few months. A special thank you to the staff at Dr. Bob Kemp Hospice, who took special care of him in his final days. Words can not express our gratitude for their kindness and compassion.

A private celebration of life will be held at a later date. As expressions of sympathy, donations can be made to Dr. Bob Kemp Hospice House in Dave's name.
