Doucette, Donna

Doucette, Donna (nee Martini)
October 25, 1943 - January 13, 2022

It is with heartache and tears that we announce the passing of Donna. The tears are more for us because she has left an enormous void in our family.

While Donna didn’t have children of her own, she was excited to be an aunt, great aunt and great-great aunt. After her sister Margaret gave birth to each of her children: Lucianne, Anthony, Lisa ( godchild), Lorelei, Leslie, Christopher and Quinto, Donna took time off work to help out with the babies. The birth of sister Rosalie’s children: Michael, Kristine and Teresa (godchild) increased her love of being an aunt.

When Lucianne and Peter had their children, Peter, Daniel, Natalie and Rachel ( godchild), she was overjoyed. The birth of Kristine’s children, Robbie, Alyssa and Quinton and the addition of her husband Mark made for even more excitement. The family kept increasing as did Donna’s love. Christopher and Angela had Adrianna, Alex and Nicola. Lorelei married Dave while Quinto and Sarah had their children, Elia and Emmeline.

The family wasn’t finished yet! Daniel married Michelle and together they had Lorenzo and Marcelo thus making Donna a great great aunt. This kept her and Rick, her companion busy driving from place to place delivering surprises to her newest blessings. Donna was excited and was looking forward to Natalie’s marriage to John.

Donna will forever be missed by everyone in her family. She cared about her many friends and kept close to cousins Elaine and Patti who will miss her calls. Margaret will miss hearing from her at 11 a.m. every day and Vicki will miss her daily call at exactly 6:10 every evening.

We rejoice in knowing that there will be a huge party for her in heaven where she will be greeted by her father Quinto, mother Lucy, brother Caesar, sisters Rosalie and Marilyn and niece Leslie.

Donna was a wonderful “pet mom” to the loves of her life, Jason, Sammy and most recently Ginger. She will be happy knowing that Ginger has moved in with her dog cousins Gus and Lily. She adored all the family dogs and especially enjoyed visits with Lisa and her dog, Cooper.

Till we meet again!
Margaret, Vicki and Family

We would like to thank the staff at Juravinski who took care of Donna, especially Dr. Martin and Social Worker Michelle Hodgson. Their compassion towards the family as they helped us express our love for Donna in her last moments will always be remembered.

A very special thank you to Dawn whose compassion and love helped us all through this difficult time. We love you, Dawn.

Donations can be made to one of Donna’s favorite charities: SPCA, March of Dimes, Mission Services, Good Shepherd, Wild Life and Diabetes Canada.

As per Donna’s wishes, she has been laid to rest in a private family service.
