Chesney, Edward John Albert
May 1, 1949 – May 16, 2024Edward “Ed” John Albert Chesney, in his 76th year, passed away suddenly at the Hamilton General Hospital, born in Brantford, oldest son of the late Kenneth Nolan Chesney (1996) and late Dorothy Mae Blaschke (1992). Ed was the husband of his first wife the late Catherine Galloway (2015) and the late Shirley Johnson (2017), dear father of son Stephen Chesney and Misty of Hamilton, and daughter Amy Chesney and Brett of Mountain Grove, Ontario. Ed is survived by his sister Karen Azerott and husband Hubert of Cambridge, brothers Cameron Chesney and wife Frances of Okotoks, Alberta and Donald Chesney and wife Jane of Moncton, New Brunswick.
Ed will be sadly missed and always remembered by his grandchildren Aidan and Owen Chesney of Hamilton, Ava and Tristan of Mountain Grove, his extended Johnson family in Stanhope, PEI, cousin Patricia McGaw of Niagara Falls, niece, nephew, and grandnieces.
From childhood living in Brantford, then Waterloo Region, PEI and back to Hamilton, Ed always enjoyed camping and being in the outdoors. Ed followed his father, grandfather, and great-grandfather’s footsteps by working with his hands fixing his cars, employed in factories, and making a living at woodworking. Most recently Ed enjoyed spending quality time with his grandchildren.
Cremation has taken place, and no service will be held as per Ed’s wishes.
In lieu of flowers, the family askes that you donate to a charity of your choice in Ed’s memory.
