May 1, 1971 - May 17, 2024Tim passed away peacefully and with dignity at home, held in love by his family and surrounded by friends. Tim was the beloved husband of Karrie and devoted father to Mairin. He was the dear son of Jill Hubbert and David McFarlane (Gilda McFarlane) and loving brother to Tracey Snell (Paul Snell), Mike McFarlane and Todd McFarlane (Karen McFarlane) and was a life-long best friend to Jon Harris. Tim loved his nieces Elyse, Brianne, Cierra, nephews Brett and Mitchell and his cousin Kyle and his family. He will be missed by his extended family Paul & Gill, stepson Tyler & Sidney, Tara & Christian, Olivia & Austin and Leah.
Tim was a dedicated, thoughtful and loving husband who always brought laughter to every situation. Tim adored being a father and cherished his time with Mairin, whom he always said taught him more than he ever taught her.
Tim grew up in Orangeville and he maintained many of his early friendships for his entire life.
Tim’s love of music was central to his life. As one friend said, “Who can listen to The Clash and not think of Tim?” He spent thousands of hours songwriting and jamming with his best friend Jon.
Tim played bagpipes and guitar from an early age. As an adult he played with both the Fergus and Guelph Pipe Bands. He especially enjoyed practicing and playing with his many musical friends. Tim was also an amazing storyteller and could be counted on to recall the smallest of details. His sense of humour, quick wit and kind and loving nature will be missed by everyone who knew him.
A celebration of life will be announced at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations made to the Brain Tumour Foundation of Canada would be greatly appreciated.
