Schnurr, Gay Carol
October 6, 1950 - June 29, 2023It is with broken hearts we announce the passing of Gay Carol Schnurr on June 29th 2023 at Juravinski Hospital in Hamilton at the age of 72. Her love of family, her smile and her thoughtfulness will be missed greatly by her children David Mack (Bee) and Isa Mack (Brad); as well as her grandchildren, Abby, Ella and Noah Thorne who were the joys of her life.
Gay is also survived by her brother, Wayne (Ursula) Chorney of Edmonton. She is predeceased by her husband of 38 years Michael: Her loving parents, Paul and Isa; and her sister, Paulette
She will be dearly missed by her close friends.
Gay was a warrior, who battled cancer with a strength and grace to be admired. She believed in paying it forward and will be remembered for the hundreds of handmade angels she gave out to those involved in both her care and her husbands over the past 5 years.
Gay loved travelling and cruising with her husband Michael, especially enjoying their many years in Mexico and Myrtle Beach where they made many amazing friends. Gay was passionate about gardening, baking and crafts and has passed that love onto her grandchildren. Above all she was devoted to her family, spending time with her children and grandchildren being her favourite activity.
As per her wishes cremation has taken place, and there will be a celebration of life held in September for family and friends (date to be confirmed). In lieu of flowers donations to The Canadian Cancer Society or Royal Botanical Gardens in Burlington are appreciated.
