Waters, William

Waters, William F. (Bill)
December 2, 1942 – July 15, 2023

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of a loving husband, Dad and Papa, William Waters. Bill, as he was fondly known to family and friends, passed quickly and peacefully at Hospice Wellington in Guelph, ON, on Saturday, July 15, 2023, in his 81st year.

An incredibly loving and devoted husband, to wife and partner in everything, Rosalie for over 52 years. Together they shared in so many laughs and adventures everywhere they went and no matter who they were with, making memories that will last forever.

A cherished Dad to Matthew (Sonia) and Carly, who always provided love, guidance, and support throughout their lives.

Adored and beloved Papa to Joshua, Amelia, and Caleb whom he loved so much. This saw him building trains sets to puppet theaters when they were young, and trips to Spencer Smith Park and Go-Karting. Papa loved hearing about accomplishments at school, work and coming to watch the hockey games.

The beloved son of pre-deceased Joseph and Elizabeth Waters and dear brother to Jack (Mary), Ron (Pat), Anne (Bob), Mary Jo (Russell) and by his pre-deceased sister Pat.

Bill’s greatest joy was his family. He put every ounce of energy into ensuring everyone was happy and healthy. He always had a big smile, warm-hearted laugh and was quick with humour to settle any tense situation or dispute. His loving embrace, at no matter what age, brought a sense of warmth and security that is indescribable.

All who met Bill instantly liked him. He will be remembered by everyone for his kindness, warm-welcoming nature, and his BIG smile. He leaves behind a legacy of family, friendships, and fond exchanges with so many people. Most importantly he created incredible memories for all of us to cherish.

Bill will be cremated with a celebration of life to be held at a future date. In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made in Bill’s name to the Canadian Cancer Society or Hospice Wellington in Guelph.

"You may be gone from our sight, but you will never be gone from our hearts"
