Brobyn, Kenneth

Brobyn, Kenneth Robert
October 24, 1948 - February 1, 2022

It is with profound sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Kenneth (Ken) Robert Brobyn, 73, of Waterloo, Ontario on Tuesday, February 1, 2022, in the arms of his loving wife Sandra (Sandi) Brobyn.

Ken loved spending time with his family and adored them all. He will be forever missed and lovingly remembered by his wife Sandi and his children, Sheena (Gary), Joel (Katherine), Tasha (Casey), Shaun (Lindsay), and Jordan (Becca). Taid (Grandpa) was deeply loved by his grandchildren, Evi, Charlie-Mae, James, Elise, Greylowe, Jaxon and Avery. Dear brother to Derek (Heidi), Stephen (Sandra) and brother in law to Jim (Christine), Scott (Sherry). Predeceased by his parents Robert George Brobyn and Eirys Evans. Ken will be greatly missed by his nieces and nephews, extended family, friends, and his fur-grandchildren (who were overjoyed just to be in his presence).

Ken had a passion for luxury automobiles and immaculate lawns, and could usually be found outside washing cars or mowing the grass. He was also well known at many Tim Hortons locations between his home and work – Wiresmith Mfg – where Ken enjoyed a successful career as Vice President of Sales, travelling extensively and designing unique merchandising displays. It was after retirement that Ken discovered his great love of Harvey’s milkshakes. Ken never turned down a steak meal or a dessert made by his wife. She always made his favourite treats, even when she knew he would sneak them away for a midnight snack.

Although no longer with us, he will always be in our hearts and looking over us. He now has a coffee in one hand and a milkshake in the other, driving a new corvette with his knees, with the biggest smile on his face.

As per Ken’s wishes, cremation has taken place. A private family gathering will be held and a celebration of life for friends and family at a later date, to be announced. Memorial donations may be made in Ken’s name to the Parkinson’s Society of Ontario or your local Humane Society.
