Dad has left us, but is joining his Lady Jane, in his 82nd year. He is so loved and missed by his 3 children Michele (Mark), Stephanie (Scott) and Christopher (Vicki). His 7 Grandchildren; Hannah (Adam), Meagan, Alex, Samantha, Nicholas, Kate, and Abigail, and his 2 Great-Grandchildren; Hunter and Philip, and his only sister, Adrienne Petten (nee Cartier) with lots of Nieces and Nephews.Dad showed us what sacrifices for your Family really means, he was always there for us, no matter the time of day. We could be anywhere and if we needed a lift home, Dad was there, no questions asked. Dad worked so hard to make sure we had what we needed and so much more, but the lessons he taught us are with us forever. Dad always wanted to be able to take care of us financially, but what he shared can never be priced, his devotion to our Family, his never-ending love for Mom, that is our inheritance from him.
There is no greater love story than our Mom and Dads, it spans lifetimes and we are so glad that they get to be together once again, Dad’s never-ending love for his Lady Jane was the sweetest thing we ever got to see, wherever they went, her hand was in his and their heart’s completely belonged to each other.
Dad was such a lovely man, and we appreciated him even more when he became his Wife’s (our Mom) sole caregiver, he just did whatever needed to be done to keep Lady Jane as comfortable as possible. He let everyone know that our Family was everything to him, keeping us safe and sound all our lives.
Dad, we are already missing you so much, your thoughts, your views, your bad Dad jokes (some of them were horrendous!!) but you are with us in spirit, and we can see so much of you in us and we wouldn’t have it any other way.
Matthew 6:21 – “For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.”
Au Revoir Dad, until we all meet again.
