Cober, Mary Jean
February 5, 1965 – July 20, 2023Mary passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family and friends on July 20th, 2023 at the age of 58.
Loving wife of 31 years to Roger Maxwell Parsons. Mother to Rachel Ann Parsons (George Muscat), Mark Clarence Parsons, Corinne Wanda Parsons (Shane Porter) and Scott Peter Parsons. She will be dearly missed by her Grand Daughter Olivia Grace McLean.
Mary has joined her Mother Jane Audrey (Sallans) (Cober) Huber, Tony Huber and her father Peter Clarence Cober in heaven. She will be missed by her siblings Margaret (Peggy) and Calvin Sallans and Keith Gillespie, John and Jennifer Cober, Peter and Lynn Cober, Philip and Lenore Cober, and Wanda and Robert Hagen.
She will be missed by all her Sisters and Brothers-in-Laws, closest friends Cheryl and Joanne, Neighbours of Maple Leaf Acres, Cousins, Aunt, Uncles and all of her Nieces and Nephews.
Mary enjoyed needlepoint work, crafting with her Mother, baking endless treats for Christmas get togethers, BINGO at the trailer, writing poems and short stories. As many of you know, Mary lost her hearing in 1996. On April 13th, 2000 a very special dog came into her life from the Lions Foundation of Canada Guide Dogs. Velvet, a beautiful brown-black chocolate lab joined the family to work as Mary’s ears. Velvet was a professionally trained Hearing Ear Dog. She made life for Mary easier by assisting her with looking after the kids, listening for the door, phone, and alarms. Together Mary and Velvet would go out to the grocery store, church, and weekly volunteering at the MCC New Hamburg Thrift Centre.
A special thank you to Groves Memorial Hospital, Fergus and Bayshore Home Care Solutions, Guelph/Wellington for the assistance, care, guidance, and support with Mary’s care.

Relatives and friends are invited to Rosebank BIC Church at 1434 Huron Rd, Petersburg, ON N0B 2H0 from 1-3 pm on Monday July 31st, 2023. A funeral service will follow at 3pm with interment in the adjoining church cemetery and funeral reception.
How wonderful it is to walk with the Lord to watch for his leading – hand in hand. Take a step.
