Eckhardt, Rene Petrus
April 20, 1949 – January 21, 2022It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Rene Eckhardt on January 21, 2022, who passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loved ones, at the age of 72.
Survived by his loving wife and partner of 58 years, Rita Eckhardt, and lovingly remembered by his two sons, Clint (Kim) Eckhardt and Ben (Megan) Eckhardt. Cherished ‘Opie’ to his two grandchildren Ella and Koen Eckhardt, who were the joys of his life. Also survived by his four brothers, sister, and extended family located in the Netherlands, Canada and other parts of the world.
Born in Den Haag, Netherlands in 1949, Rene was the youngest of six children. In 1970, he and his wife immigrated to Canada where he built a life for his family.
Rene enjoyed traveling and made many friends around the world. He will be deeply missed.
