Blinkhorn, Scott
Blinkhorn, Scott Gerard
March 28, 1991 to June 13, 2021.
Peacefully passed away at Freeport Hospital on Sunday June 13th 2021 at the age of 30.
He is lovingly remembered by his parents Gerard and Debbie Blinkhorn. Deeply missed by his sister Shannon Allison (nee Blinkhorn), Brother In-Law Bob Allison and his treasured niece Kenna Allison. As well as his grandparents Harry and Elizabeth Blinkhorn, Marie Howie and Larry Allensen. Also remembered by many Uncles, Aunts, Cousins, and friends who were such an important part of his life.
Scott worked as a lifeguard and swim instructor for the City of Kitchener and touched the lives of many during his time as a student at Wilfred Laurier University and Conestoga College. Scott had a love for history, reading and writing, through which he often shared his knowledge with those who engaged in conversation with him. His outlook on philosophy and life were appreciated by all those who he shared it with.
After Scott’s diagnosis of cancer in 2013, he constantly battled the challenges as well as the ups and downs with bravery, grace and strength. Through the nine year battle Scott never wavered from his core values, he remained positive and thought of others first all while maintaining his contagious smile.
Special thanks to Nurses, Doctors and Staff at Grand River ICU and at Freeport Hospital UT3 for their continued care. Extra thanks also to the family and friends that supported and encouraged Scott throughout his experience.
As expressions of sympathy, donations can be made to Cystic Fibrosis Canada. A cause that was very near and dear to Scott’s heart.
A celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
Scott, you will forever be in our hearts and never forgotten.
The force will be with you…always.
