Cécile Collin-Bingham born August 20, 1947 in Hearst, Ontario passed away peacefully at Hospice Wellington in Guelph, Ontario on January 17, 2025 in her 78th year.
Survived by her loving husband of 50 years, Neil Bingham and lovingly remembered by her brothers and sister: Maurice (Rose, deceased) of Brantford, Jean-Paul of Montréal, Jacqueline (Guy, deceased) of Hearst, Donald of Montréal and Lionel (Alice) of Hearst. Predeceased by her parents Benoît and Marguerite and her brothers and their spouses; Aldé (Jeanne) and Roger (Anita). Cécile is fondly remembered as a loving and devoted aunt to her many nieces and nephews and as a kind-hearted person to her many friends over the years. She will be greatly missed by all.
As a remarkable businesswoman, she and her husband Neil developed the company Hood Chemical and were the owners for 43 years (since 1981). She was an avid golf player and thoroughly enjoyed playing golf with her many, many golf friends at various courses. With all of the love she had for her family and friends, she also held a very special place in her heart for dogs and we know she’s now loving on her beloved Oliver and Briggs again. Cécile was known for her contagious laugh, her optimism and her compassion for others. She was admired for her “joie de vivre”, radiant smile, warm hugs and heart of gold…To know her, was truly to love her.
Cremation has taken place and a Celebration of Life in her hometown will follow in the summer. The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to the staff and volunteers at Hospice Wellington in Guelph for their wonderful care and support over the last few weeks. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Wellington Hospice would be greatly appreciated by the family - https://www.hospicewellington.org/donate.
From her favourite song by Salvatore Adamo, “Accroche une larme aux nuages…et au désert la rose fleurira” (Hang a teardrop on the clouds and in the desert the rose will bloom).
