June 8, 1936 – March 20, 2025George English, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully on March 20, 2025, at the age of 88.
Born, raised and lived on the family property in East Speyside for the entirety of his life. George was known for his strong social nature. He made friends wherever he went and was the kind of person who could strike up a conversation with anyone. His friendships were many, and his loyalty to those he cared about was unwavering. As a member of St. John’s Anglican Church in Stewartown, George also found great comfort in his faith and community.
George shared 63 wonderful years of marriage with his loving wife, Pat. Together, they built a life full of love, memories, and laughter. He was a proud father to his children, Tracy (Brian ), Glenn (Kimberly), and David (Melissa), and a cherished grandfather to his 9 grandchildren, Joel, Kendall, Brooke, Brody, Colton, Melissa, Brett, Angela & Logan, who always knew him for his playful spirit and kind heart.
George was a dedicated truck driver throughout his entire life, a career that took him across the country and brought him into contact with a multitude of people from many walks of life. His wit and sense of humor made him a joy to be around, and his infectious laughter will be remembered by all who knew him.
George’s legacy is one of kindness, humor, and love for his family and friends. He will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
George, your journey may have come to an end, but your spirit, laughter, and warmth will live on in all of us forever. Our family dinners will not be the same.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in George’s name to St. John’s Anglican Church, Halton’s Women’s Place, or a charity of your choice in his memory.
A celebration of his life will be held in early June.
