Bleakney, Luke (Lucas)
January 22, 1972 - June 5, 2023Luke left us too soon at the age of 51. He put up a valiant struggle against cancer but now is at peace.
He was a man of many talents and not afraid of hard work, working in horticulture, landscaping and construction. He was a generous man and gave of himself to family and friends. He loved nature and was a country boy at heart. In these last months he got particular joy from one of his lifelong favourite places - The Royal Botanical Gardens.
Predeceased by his father, Gordon Bleakney, Luke will be dearly missed by his mother Christine Bleakney (Don Darnley), aunts, uncles and cousins.
Our deepest gratitude to Whitney Brooks for her love and compassionate care of Luke during the last months of his life.
Special thanks to the medical teams at the Juravinski Hospital and McMaster Family Health, especially Dr. Marrison Marwood, for their superlative support and care.
There will be a private celebration of Luke's life for family and close friends at a later date. Expressions of sympathy would be appreciated with donations to The Canadian Cancer Society or The Royal Botanical Gardens.
